Community that Matters
The leaves have changed and the weather is beginning to become crisp. The sun now fades more quickly in the evening, and our homes are a bit cozier. The season has fallen on us like so many tri color leaves, and the holidays are right around the corner! We may become busy with our celebration plans and year-end initiatives. However, it’s important to take moments and reflect in thankfulness throughout this season.
For us it is easy to get caught up in the minutiae of payroll and HR, after all that is our business and we wouldn’t have it any other way! However, we would not be where we are today without the collection of businesses, employees, and families that make it all worthwhile.
With home grown roots in the Upstate of South Carolina, Performance works to express thanks by employing candidates locally. Performance also seeks to help nearby businesses run efficiently, and give time to those in need. Dedicating our time to help local businesses and charities is not the least we can do. It is just doing what a family does for its members.
Because of our commitment to our community, we find it very important to dedicate certain Fridays to delivering meals to local homebound seniors that may otherwise go without. We have chosen to partner with Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels does incredible work throughout the country and we are so proud that we can work with them to help seniors in our community.

Have you noticed it? The constant barrage of advertisements trying to encourage our holiday buying habits. It comes every year in full swing. Getting the newest toy or gift for loved ones may become our focus. Showing those around us love and appreciation is a part of what makes this season so special! However, as we look at those close to us, let’s take time to also look at those who may not be around us but are in need of gifts this Christmas time.
At Performance we love to deck our halls and make our offices merry and bright! We also are glad for the opportunity to makes other’s days a bit merrier. That’s why we team up with Salvation Army’s Angel Tree List. This year we have decided to do the Christmas-present shopping for five children in the Upstate.

In South Carolina Thanksgiving is synonymous for the great palmetto state rivalry – Clemson versus the University of South Carolina. Even as a company we are an office divided when it comes to our team spirit (although as the author I can say “Go Clemson Tigers!”). This rivalry is all in good fun but what makes it better is that it can count for good! Each year we support the Rivalry Cup. A charity golf tournament that pits Tigers against Gamecocks all in the name of supporting the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. FCA is an organization that is dedicated to development of youth on and off the field in a life-impacting way!
These actions do not define us but define our community and the future of our community. At the end of the day it would still be here even if we didn’t do anything to help it. But what matters is that performing your best for you and those around you- the community – makes it a better place for everyone. Even if just by a little bit. There is always more that we can do but every day it is good to step back and say “How can I help my community be better today?”
We are grateful to serve you and are ever grateful for making your contribution to making us who we are.
So in this time of thanksgiving,
